What is cyberfibres?
cyberfibres is your first port of call to explore Australia's fashion and textile heritage. Launch yourself into cyberfibres and find out about the lives, work and achievements of individuals and organisations who have contributed to the Australia of today through their dedication to fashion and textiles.

cyberfibres origins
cyberfibres: Online Register of Australian Fashion and Textile Design, is a project of the Frances Burke Textile Resource Centre, School of Fashion and Textiles at RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. The creation of this unique website was made possible through generous funding provided in 1999 by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources (DISR) from the TCF 2000 Development Package through the TCF Program Unit in Melbourne. The launch of the site in the year 2000 marks the first phase of an ongoing growth project that aims to document Australia's fashion and textile past, and offers inspiration for the researcher, designer, manufacturer, fashion and textile practitioner and professional of the future. Sponsorship of individual web pages provides the opportunity for the sponsor to demonstrate active support of the industry.
