Established in the early 1970s, Atelier was initially a wholesale label that produced leathergoods for men and women. In the early 1990s Atelier launched into retail. Subsequent Atelier product has included womenswear, menswear, footwear and accessories sold in its signature stores throughout Australia. Atelier continued wholesaling to Myer Grace Bros and some boutique stores.
